After Charli D’Amelio, Khaby Lame has become the second most followed person on TikTok.
His TikTok account currently has over 121.4 million followers and 1.9 billion likes. That’s more followers than the population of the United Kingdom!
Some speculate that he may be on his way to overtaking Charli as the world’s most popular TikToker.
Who is Khaby Lame?
Khabane Lame was born in the West African country of Senegal but now calls Italy home. He’s a young man of twenty-one years. Khaby’s Lame real name is not Khaby Lame. His full name is actually Khabane Lame.
This tiktoker created his TikTok account after losing his factory job in March 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Khaby Lame posts amusing videos on his account where he criticizes those who overcomplicate things for no reason.
He believes that people throughout the world enjoy his videos because his comedic facial expressions make people laugh and that you don’t need to speak a specific language to find them amusing.
Khaby is a huge football lover, and he appears in films wearing football shirts.
Juventus F.C. is his favorite team.
Eddie Murphy and Will Smith have also been mentioned as two of his main influences.
On TikTok, he is the most popular man, but doesn’t say anything
He spent his days seeking work at his parents’ house in Chivasso with his three siblings. He downloaded TikTok one day and began playing around with it in his bedroom, posting videos of himself under the name Khaby Lame. And, over time, a remarkable career emerged.
He began by making videos of himself dancing, playing video games, or performing comic antics, as do many TikTokers. Then, earlier this year, he started making fun of the life-hack videos that fill social media platforms, replying to them with a meaningless shrug or an exasperated expression, and he hit a nerve.
He makes it obvious that life does not have to be complicated
Lame’s sarcastic comedy has won him followers from all around the world, who send him videos showing individuals doing simple activities in complex ways on a regular basis.
“They know I’m the issue-solver, so they tag or mention me and say, ‘Khaby, it’s your turn, solve this problem because we need you,'” he explained.
His stoic facial expressions have also made him a meme star, with his face appearing in social media reaction videos.
Lame is one of TikTok’s most popular content providers. According to Social Blade, a company that studies social media data, he’s collecting about 200,000 followers every day and is on track to overtake the platform’s most popular star.
Lame, on the other hand, claims that’s not why he started releasing videos.
“I don’t care if I’m the most popular TikTok user, second, third, or fourth. During the lockdown, I began shooting films because I wanted to make people laugh ” he stated “And I continue to make videos based on the same beliefs. I’m proud of my achievements, but they’re not the most important aspects of my life.”
