Everyone knows how important making a good first impression is, so why should that be any different online?

A ‘bio’ is a small summary of text that can be found after clicking on a person’s profile

The purpose of a bio is to inform users of a little bit about you before they start going through your videos, so they know what you’re all about.

Your bio is just as important as other aspects of your account, including your name and profile picture.

So, what can you do to make a really good TikTok bio?

    1. Describe your account/brand:

A really good way to optimise your bio is by telling your followers what you do and a little bit about who you are.

Ideally, you would want your followers to know who you are from your videos, but you don’t want to rely on that.

A small line with your name or the name of your business in it would really help users in knowing they have found the right person.

    2. Be yourself

There are tonnes of accounts out there, a lot of them trying to sell stuff or go viral on TikTok.

The best thing that you can do to make your bio stand out is to be yourself, put a little bit about you in there- and make people want to get to know you!

    3. Add Emojis

People are more likely to look at bio’s with emoji’s in them.

It helps identify your’s or your brand’s personality and takes up a lot less space than typing out the word.

This means that the bio is shorter, and therefore people will be more likely to pay attention to it.

    4. Add Links

Adding links to your bio is really important, because it gives people the opportunity to see more content that you have posted, or to get involved with something you are promoting.

Having links is a really good way to get site traffic and followers up on alternative websites and social media sites.

    5. Don’t write too much

If you want your bio to be good, don’t make it too long or wordy.

People will get bored reading a really wordy bio, your best bet is just to keep it short and sweet, so the reader is still interested.

    6. Include a C-T-A

A C-T-A is a call to action, which tells your viewers what they should do next.

A lot of users use a C-T-A to get users to get onto another post on a different site that is important to them or is a part of something they are campaigning to change.

Make sure your bio relates to your content

There is nothing worse than going on a TikTok profile, and finding a bio that has nothing to do with the content on TikTok.

Make sure your content and your bio are about similar topics, or all of your followers will get confused.
