What does GGT mean on TikTok?
The term GGT on TikTok refers to ‘Gamers Got Talent’, which is a content series hosted on TikTok to search for gamers with hidden talents in the US and Canada.
The live series is in partnership with TikTok, Enthusiast Gaming, and e.l.f. Cosmetics. The contestants must showcase their impressive talents to a panel of celebrity judges over seven weeks, in an attempt to win the grand prize of $25,000 and a selection of products from e.l.f.
The panel of judges will rotate each week, but they’re rumoured to be notable ex-gamers and other members of the TikTok community.
The first episode premiers on Sunday 9th May 2021 at 7pm EST, with the first selection of judges comprising of an all-female panel. The three organisations involved highlighted that they wanted to shine a light on female gamers in the competition – due to the fact that the gaming industry is recognised for being dominated primarily by males.
The hashtag has become so popular, TikTok users are even using it in normal content alongside #fyp, in attempt to reach higher engagement and views.
What is GGT looking for on TikTok?
Gamers Got Talent are looking for everything and anything. With a specific focus on the gaming community, the judges are in search of hidden talents – whether that is playing an instrument incredibly well, performing skating tricks, cooking up a dish, or whatever else you can showcase!
The idea is for the gaming community to show and express that they are more than just a gamer. Of course, high-level gaming talents are also encouraged to get involved.
The competition promises a ton of publicity and the chance of winning the grand prize!
How can you get involved with GGT on TikTok?
To apply for the competition, all you have to do is search the hashtag #TikTokGGT on TikTok and click the ‘apply’ button – it’s that simple!
The button will then take you to a ‘submit your audition’ page, where you need to submit an audition video. The deadline is 2nd May 2021 and the competition is only open to residents of the US and Canada. You must be over 18 years old to apply.
The selected hopefuls will then be invited to participate in the live show hosted on TikTok.
