Dozens and dozens of TikTok subscribers have taken to Twitter nowadays to complain that their For You Page is ‘broken.’
The bug seems to be likely to affect million subscribers, resulting in strange videos showing up in their feed.
Let’s look into the issue to see if there’s a way of solving it…
USERS OF TIKTOK REPORT THAT THEIR FYP IS ‘BROKEN.’
Since November 5th, Twitter has been inundated with recent reports of the TikTok For You Page malfunctioning.
People are reporting that the algorithm on their For You Page is broken.
People claimed that the FYP only displays videos from verified accounts and people they follow, rather than videos from all types of creators.
Some users have also reported that their For You Page keeps resetting itself when they try to scroll through it.
“My TikTok FYP is weird today, it’s mostly showing people I follow and celebrities,” one user wrote. It’s strange, but I don’t like it.”
“My TikTok FYP is so broken that it’s literally just verified creators,” said another.
“Is it just me or is anyone else’s TikTok FYP page just blue checks and the people you follow?” a third person asked.
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
Sadly, TikTok has not discussed the problem as of the time of this writing.
Many people have tweeted TikTok Support and TikTok Help in an attempt to get answers, but they have yet to receive a response.
If the bug persists, TikTok will most likely address and fix it as soon as it becomes aware of it.
However, there are some things you can do in the meantime to try to get your FYP back up and running…
FIXING YOUR TIKTOK FYP
- – Close the app and reopen it.
First, try shutting down your app completely. Swipe up on your iPhone’s homepage to do this.
- – Log out of the application.
Some people have reported that logging out of the platform and then re-logging in has resolved their TikTok issue.
- – Turn off your phone.
It’s the oldest trick in the book, and sometimes it’s as simple as turning your phone off and on again.
- – Remove your app.
You could also try deleting your app and reinstalling it from the App Store.
- – Delete your cache.
Removing all of the data stored in your TikTok app may be enough to resolve the issue. Clear the cache by going to Profile > Settings > Clear Cache.
