Why are people searching for @codgod76 on TikTok?
It all started when a user named WILDCAT on YouTube played a game of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare but changed his username on the game to “TikTok codgod76”. He went ahead and told other players to follow him on TikTok.
During the game, it was said a few times that “codgod76” is a “TikTok phenom” and everyone should definitely check out his channel. After hyping up the name so much, a few players must have checked the account.
The truth is WILDCAT is a phenomenal Call of Duty player and putting out a username is sure to get a lot of clouts. He posted a video of his gameplay with the title – “Modern Warfare but I pretend to be a 45-year-old TikTok phenom named codgod76…” on 29 May 2021.
This video has received 617k views so far and it has not even been a month (21 June 2021). Even though the title says that he is pretending, a lot of his viewers from his audience of 7.87 million went to TikTok to find this guy.
This led to a hashtag being created called #codgod76 as well. There is someone out there who has that username and is suddenly getting a lot of followers even though they didn’t do anything.
