The two fingers touching stance (????) seems to have been replaced by a new gesture on TikTok: two fingers on the arm.
TikTokers are constantly using the pose in videos, baffling many users. Read on to find out the meaning behind it all.
What does the two fingers on arm gesture mean on TikTok?
Essentially, it means that content creators are showing their true self or true preferences, hence pointing fingers towards the veins.
How did the trend begin?
The trend initially started with the ‘built different’ trend, which saw TikTokers listing personality traits and attributes that made them stand out from the crowd.
More recently, the gesture has been used in the ‘It started with a hey’ trend, which is set to the song ‘Hayloft’ by Mother Mother. This trend sees TikToker’s reveal their ‘true’ nature or opinion on something, by using the two fingers on the arm gesture.
For example, (as above) one TikToker writes “another f**king TikTok trend” at the beginning of the video, as if she dislikes the idea. Then, the use of the gesture, reveals that she does, in fact, as the trend.
The gesture has gained popularity quickly – over 450k videos use the ‘It started with a hey’ sound.
