Once again, TikTok comes into the limelight for dangerous reasons. On 23rd May, a Chinese influencer and streamer broadcasting from Xiamen was attacked by a man with a sword and lost his hand.
The police investigation against the suspect, Lou, is ongoing. But so far reports direct that the suspect and streamer argued on the Chinese TikTok platform- Douyin. The nature and topic of the argument are unclear yet, but this incident was how Lou reacted to the fight.
Since the incident happened during a live stream session, videos have gone viral that show the streamer and his friend running to protect themselves suffering serious wounds on their arms and back. Other clips also show panic in the crowd, as everyone was running while the attacker chased them with a sword in his hand.
Some viewers think that the whole incident might be a PR stunt. However, Xiamen police have released a statement to confirm that the attack was not an attempt at publicity. The suspect fled the scene after the incident. However, he was arrested the next day and the case is ongoing.

One of the people he was pranking got too serious and verbally threatened to kill the content-creator.
