Recently a new trend on TikTok has been blowing up and a lot of people are already getting involved! The ‘And That Man Is Me’ trend is becoming the new favourite challenge for users.
The ‘And That Man Is Me challenge is a storytelling type trend that allows people to joke about themselves in funny or embarrassing relatable situations – and then finishing with the sound ‘And That Man Is Me’.
This isn’t the first trend to blow up on TikTok since the start of 2021. TikTok users haven’t held back on the trends this year, as there’s always a new one often on the ‘for you’ page!
What is ‘And That Man Is Me’ trend on TikTok?
The ‘And That Man Is Me TikTok is a trend that has become popular on TikTok since the start of February 2021. Users write or explain a story or situation in 3rd person to mislead the viewer – thinking it’s a random story/situation about anything.
For example: “There was this boy in school who used to wet himself”
Then, using a sound by Paul Russel (on TikTok it is called ‘when I wuz ur man remix’) the TikToker finished their video by explaining that ‘that man is me’.
The user uses the sound ‘And That Man Is Me’ to admit the scenario they are describing, making it a fun and silly challenge to give yourself some self-love.
Who started it all?
The original challenge was started by musician Paul Russel, on his TikTok account @paulrusellmusic. He starts the challenge by claiming to have a message from ‘the guy who stole your girl’. Yet in this TikTok there is a hidden story!

The video received over 2 million views and over 500,000 likes – and is now one of the most viral trends on TikTok with hundreds of people getting involved.

We can relate to this man here. He starts by ranting about people who don’t upload to Instagram after they’ve taken pictures – but then admits that’s actually him.
This girl starts to fire shots at people’s degree choices and the musical theatre one is a waste of time… but then it’s actually her!
This one is very convincing at the start. She’s in tears over her boyfriend having a really hot girlfriend but in fact, it’s actually her!
How to do the ‘And That Man Is Me’ challenge on TikTok
To get involved in this trend, all you need is the TikTok app and to have made sure you have the latest version. Then, go to the camera at the bottom of the screen.
Film the first part of the challenge by perhaps pretending to cry at your chosen scenario or just look convincing. Then for the second part change your tone and mouth the words ‘and that man was me’.
When filming you could have the song in the background so you can follow it easier. Once its filmed search for ‘when I wuz ur man remix’ and select it to go over your video.
