How does the 20 number challenge work?
With over 856.6k videos under its name, this challenge is going viral on TikTok. The 20-number challenge is something to try out if you like trying out a fun yet difficult challenge to complete.
This 20 number challenge is done using the help of a filter. People start this challenge by turning on a filter with numbers that shows 20 slots in front of them. By clicking the screen, a random number anywhere from between 001 to 999 is generated.
The goal of this challenge is fit all the numbers generated into the 20 slots given. The numbers are generated randomly and have to be added in the correct descending order.
You end up losing the 20 number challenge when you get any number that cannot be added to the slots, which can be seen happening to the user above.
This TikTok number filter is a complex challenge
While the concept of the 20 number challenge seems simple enough, it is anything but that. Usually performed once per day, this challenge has been attempted many times. It has even taken up to 33 days for this particular user and they still haven’t been able to complete the challenge yet.
Despite the difficulty, there are some ways to make this challenge more doable. For example, any double numbers that are repeated by the generated can be skipped as per need.
TikTok user @kellyhaller first took a chance at playing the 20 number TikTok challenge on 21st March 2023, losing the challenge after filling 12 slots, remaining with 8 slots.

All their videos collectively garnered views in the hundred thousand, with their best one going up to 302.2k. They went on to attempt the challenge 4 more times, losing their last chance with only 2 slots remaining.
