Facebook has introduced a new feature to Messenger called “vanish mode”, also available on Instagram. Here’s what it is.
Mark’s Zuckerberg Facebook innovation is a milestone in everybody’s life. Remember the time you couldn’t communicate with your loves-ones in other countries? Me, neither.
Since Facebook’s launch in 2004, the platform has been updating its features every now and then, while expanding by buying other social media platforms, such as Instagram.
The latest feature Facebook has introduced to Messenger and Instagram is the vanish mode.
What is the Vanish Mode?
Facebook introduced the vanish mode to the Messenger app back in September, and now it’s available on Instagram too.
The vanish mode feature is inspired by Snapchat’s disappearing snaps, and it allows users to send messages that will disappear once the person has read it.
This feature allows users to have secret conversations on the app and not worry about any leaks.
The vanish mode also permits you to choose exactly how long you want your message to be visible for by setting a timer; then the message is gone once and for all.
How to use the Vanish Mode on Facebook
Since the vanish mode is the newest feature introduced by Facebook, you need to have the latest version of Messenger to access the vanish mode; update the app if you haven’t already.
Firstly, open the Messenger app.
Tap the pencil inside a square icon at the top right corner of the screen.
Click on “secret” at the top right corner of the screen.
A list of your Facebook friends will appear; choose the person you want to have a secret conversation with.
Once you have typed your message, click on the timer icon at the left of the text box and choose how long you want the message to be visible for.
