Celebrity deaths are no longer strange in this day and age. In October alone, some notable figures, including Friends star Matthew Perry and TikTok influencer Mr. Pella Pazzo, met an early demise. However, none are as tragic or unusual as the death of the TikTok Narco queen.
Who is the TikTok narco queen?
Sabrina Durán Montero, also known as Narco Queen, was a TikTok beauty influencer from Chile. She was known for her review videos of various skincare products, through which she amassed over 600,000 followers. However, the story doesn’t begin there.
Sabrina had been arrested – alongside her two brothers – on suspicion of drug dealing before her popularity. At the time of her arrest, various drugs, including MDMA, cannabis, and cocaine, were reportedly in her possession. During her 3-year sentence, she allegedly began a same-sex relationship with Antonella Marchant, a notorious gang leader who was her cellmate.
After her conditional release from prison, Sabrina was dubbed ‘Narco queen’ by her TikTok followers due to her past brushes with the law, which heavily contrasted with her ‘innocent’ appearance.
The 24-year-old also went by Juakina Gusman and Katrina Gusman, her username. Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, an infamous Mexican ex-drug lord, was the most likely inspiration for these nicknames.
What happened to Narco queen?
On October 24, 2023, Sabrina posted a review video in which she did a scent test to promote a new product. However, unknown to her, that would be the last video she ever posted.
That morning, she was driving to the nail salon when three masked assailants cornered, shot, and killed her.
In the video below, while Sabrina struggles to get up, one of the masked gunmen shoots her several times before speeding off in her vehicle. We advise viewer discretion as this clip contains a recording of the crime in real-time.
Although the evidence is inconclusive, local police have surmised that her murder was a retaliation attempt by a rival gang. One child survives Sabrina. Meanwhile, the hitmen are still at large.
