Social media barely gives us a breather from mind-boggling trends and rumors. Whether it’s fake RIP memes, tantalizing jump scares, or eye-grabbing viral news about the Earth coming to an end – the internet never fails to entertain!

It’s hard to gauge which geniuses (and why) comes up with rumors like this! That question is open for all! So, many of you have already had a panic attack upon hearing the rumor of TikTok ending on May 15th?

What is the ’15th May shutting down rumor’ about?

TikTok IS officially banned in certain countries:

In the US, the Trump administration threatened to shut down TikTok several times, though it never actually happened. Since the beginning of Biden’s regime, there hasn’t been any mention of officially banning TikTok so far. Countries like India, Pakistan, and Indonesia- on the other hand, have placed a ban on TikTok since 2020. Apart from these few countries, the app is running perfectly normally in most other countries, and there’s no need to be worried now.

    Don’t stress over it!

The rumor on Twitter and TikTok, that the app is bound to be shut down from May 15th doesn’t have much basis behind it. It’s one of those time-killing false news that creates a buzz and then disappears for good.

Some users have been sharing panic-inducing posts of TikTok’s upcoming ban, but don’t give in to the gossip. We know it’ll be purely devastating if the app does shut down, but rest assured that there’s no evidence of the rumor. So sit back, relax and enjoy your time with TikTok.
