A man in Texas died while recording a video for the social media platform- TikTok- on top of an 18-wheeler truck.
On November 10, a 25-year-old man died in Texas while he was dancing on top of an 18-wheeler truck and recording a video of it. The truck hit a bridge and the man fell and died on the spot.
According to reports, the truck driver says that he was unaware that someone was dancing on the trailer of the vehicle. Since the incident, the video of the TikTok user before he fell off has been surfacing on multiple social media platforms. But for some people watching it is too triggering.
According to police reports, when the man hit the bridge he fell from the trailer to the freeway’s main lanes. From there, paramedics were called and he was taken to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. But by then he had already passed away.
The police are still investigating the incident. A witness took to Facebook to describe how traumatic it was to see the incident, “I saw the contorted body and broken neck and arm. It was a horrible way to begin a day. And I took the time to describe the imagery because it was traumatic for myself and everyone actually there.”
Responses to the man dying
This incident has sparked a larger debate among netizens about the kind of impact social media platforms have on people. The fact that an adult thought to risk his life for the sake of a single video is an alarming situation that tells us a lot about the kind of society we are living in.
People had various kinds of responses to this incident on Twitter. Some were feeling sorry for the guy, while others were unhappy over how stupid this action was.
Others even pointed out how the whole “man dancing on a truck” is not new in Houston and they have heard about this before too, which is quite bizarre.
