TikTok users never get bored from obsessing over the most dangerous stunts. Currently, a death dive stunt is everything users can talk about.
Three days ago @Asbjørg Nesje, a famous creator residing in Norway, shared a diving video, where she was seen diving from a cliff. This user had previously posted many diving videos, but this one was unique as she jumped and spiraled down for many seconds until hitting the water. The caption read “Trying new things is always scary, but this was SO MUCH FUN.” This video has surpassed more than 40 million views.
Even though the video certainly looked fine, there were many concerns as to if diving from such a height is even safe. If you do it the right way it is safe, but it is certainly not safe if TikTok users treat it as a mundane dance challenge video and make the hashtag #deathdive go viral.
She jumped from a height of 81 feet. This height sounds more bizarre when one finds out that the highest Olympic diving board is around 33 feet. This kind of diving is an extreme sport known as dodsing and has been popular in Norway since the 1970s.
TikTok did show a warning on the video “The actions in this video are performed by professionals or supervised by professionals. Do not attempt.”But unsurprisingly users did not pay much heed to this verbal warning and soon many users were sharing their death dive videos.

One user shared their experience and said “I cliff-dived at devils elbow in GA, busted every single blood vessel in my leg because I landed wrong.” Another user joked, “My neighbor did that and now he drives with a straw.”
Others were wondering if divers even know what kind of water they are jumping in. One of them commented and asked if there are big rocks under the water, which definitely is a valid concern.
