You know how you go on the Snapchat map to find out where your friends are at and instead you find blimp balloons? What’s up with that?
Snapchat is well-known for its playful filters and games; people are finding blimp balloons on the Snapchat map and it seems to be another fun game, but it is rather confusing when you don’t know how to play along.
What are the Blimp Balloons on Snapchat?
The blimp balloons are actually an annual Easter egg hunt game that Snapchat launched in 2019.
Usually, this game comes up on the app on the week of Easter and to play, you have to go outside and head to the location that the blimp balloons seem to be.
In the area that the blimp balloons are, there are eggs which have been dropped by the blimp balloons, and they are visible with the back camera of Snapchat ?.
You can play this game with your friends and the winner is the person who collects most eggs and therefore gets a little easter trophy from Snapchat.
There is also a leader-board which shows who’s winning and how many eggs they have gathered.
The egg hunt game in 2020 – COVID inspired
Because of COVID-19, Snapchat had to come up with a new version of the game, so that social distancing rules can be maintained while having fun.
In 2020, you can find the eggs tapping on the Snapchat camera. To avoid making the egg hunt boring, they have embedded mini-games; so, when you find one egg, you then have to play another game that shows up, such as bingo and guaranteed drops that determines how many eggs you will win.
Once again, Snapchat didn’t fail to entertain its users, even under the circumstances of a pandemic ?.
