The 62-year-old actor Lance Kerwin passed away on January 24, but the cause of death still remains unknown.
Kerwin’s daughter Savanah put up a Facebook post on January 25 and told the public about the death of his father. The post read, “I am so sorry to those we have not been able to reach out to personally to notify but Lance Kerwin passed away yesterday morning. We appreciate all the kind words, memories, and prayers that have been shared. … He loved each and every one of you.”
Kerwin was born on November 6, 1960. He was raised in Lake Elsinore, California. He is famous for his roles in Salem’s Lot and James at 16. He became a prominent personality in the entertainment industry in the 70s, until he quit the industry to become a youth minister in the late ’90s and moved to Hawaii.
However, he had to return to California after the outbreak of covid-19. According to John Holmstrom, a former theater critic, Kerwin is “probably America’s leading boy actor of the late Seventies … a handsome lad … [with] considerable sensitivity as an actor”. He is most renowned for his horror character in Salem’s Lot.
However, his work in the NBC show James at 16 has been critically acclaimed for highlighting key issues one faces while growing up. Some of his other best characters are in movies The Boy Who Drank Too Much, The Loneliest Runner, and Children of Divorce.
Actor Lance Kerwin’s cause of death
Currently, it is unknown how the actor passed away. An autopsy will be conducted to figure out the reason. However, Lance did have health issues.
In 2021 one of Kerwin’s friends set up a GoFundMe page to help him. The reason for the fund was to help Kerwin with the costs of getting better from his back injury and some other unnamed issues.
