Who sings “Girl On Fire”?
This catchy song was sung by none other than Alicia Keys. She is an American singer and songwriter who released Girl On Fire on 4th September 2021.
Girl On Fire comprises an interpolation of drums from a song called “The Big Beat” and its artist was also given a writing credit.
Keys said that the inspiration of this song was giving birth to his son Egypt and her marriage. The song has a lot of positive reviews and Erin Thompson from Seattle Weekly commented that “only Alicia could do it”.
This 40-years-old brunette has received numerous accolades in her long career, including 15 Grammys, 17 NAACP Image Awards, etc.
That viral girl on fire TikTok video
This video was taken by a resident of Pensacola, Florida named Tom Coverly. He is the father of Annika Coverly, the cute daughter who was cleaning the pool while this video was being taken.
We all like to sing while doing our chores and even imagine ourselves in a dramatic music video while we are at it and so did Annika.
She was using the rake as a microphone while belting out the lyrics to Girl on Fire. This entire performance was recorded by her dad and when she realizes this, instead of being embarrassed, she smiles gracefully.
Tom is a very supportive father and in the end of the video you can see him praising his daughter’s singing.
Reaction from Alicia Keys
This video went so viral that it reached the artist of the song who was also a young prodigy herself. The Grammy-winning singer was composing songs at the age of 12 and was signed to Columbia Records at the age of 15.
Keys was pleased to see Annika’s cover and commented “Sing, Mama”.
These words of encouragement from a talented artist, the enthusiam in Annika’s singing, and the wholesomeness of the dad was all too much for us. #socute
