The most bizarre trend of 2021 has to be this one where everyone on TikTok is buying Spongebob Popsicles for a very silly reason.
This viral trend started because of a four-year-old boy who accidentally ordered Spongebob Popsicles worth $2,617 to his aunt’s house. How did that happen accidentally? We will never know! But it triggered the whole platform to buy these popsicles. Find out why in the articles below.
Why are TikTok users buying Spongebob Popsicles?
The real reason why so many people are buying Spongebob Popsicles is that they are trying to find a “normal” one.
So far, every popsicle that has been unboxed by the TikTokers has come up deformed. That is why they are all sharing their deformed popsicles.
There are some users who buy a popsicle every day and show what they got. Some of them have actually gotten a normal one. Normal Spongebob popsicle or not, the popsicles sales must be through the roof because of their deformed products.
What happened with the trendsetter?
The four-year-old Noah who started the trend got in serious trouble for the accidental order. His mother, Jennifer Bryant, got this gigantic bill that she could not afford.
These two are from Brooklyn, New York, and they could not afford to pay this bill as Jennifer was a student at NYU and a mother of three at the same time.
TikTokers sympathized with her and donated to her GoFundMe page that has now raised $23,700 even though the goal was just $2,619.
Apparently, this story went viral and they raised the amount needed within 24 hours itself. That is the power of the internet!
Jennifer added a note at the end saying – “As a parent to a child living with ASD [autism spectrum disorder], all additional donations will go towards Noah’s education and additional supports. We cannot thank you enough. Truly,”
How wholesome was the ending?
