Online users are shown praising them for being amusing and sincere as they share and comment on their work. Also emphasized was how eager visitors from all around the world are to visit the Milwaukee Public Library.
The social media team of the Milwaukee Public Library is currently headed by two individuals, while many more participate when they are recording video for their social media accounts. Together with the library’s volunteer coordinator, Fawn Siemsen-Fuchs, Derek Reilly, who oversees research and policy, assists in managing social media.
Reilly explained to WISN ABC how they were able to produce such viral material, and the key was consistency. He added that their initial goal was to produce new content simply once a week, but the team was forced to produce new material three times weekly due to the tenfold increase in demand for the library’s content.
Reilly added that the key factor contributing to his and Fawn’s ability to produce interesting content is their background working in libraries. The Milwaukee Library informed the Wall Street Journal that there have been more people visiting the library and signing up for library cards lately, but this cannot be linked to the viral films because their recent internet renown also coincided with its reopening.
