Recently, a brand new Pinterest trend has blown up on TikTok in 2021. Users are able to find their look-alike on the app by just searching with a selfie. The #Pinteresttrend is found on many TikToker accounts and it’s gone viral!
In the past, there have been many other Pinterest trends but the new one is even better! This time users are uploading an image of themselves to the app, then they are greeted with a series of other people’s selfies; that Pinterest thinks looks like them!
This isn’t the first time a filter has gone viral on TikTok, as every other week a new one is found and blown up. There have been similar challenges to this before like the ‘celebrity look alike filter’ that had thousands of users finding celeb look-alikes.
How to do the Pinterest trend on TikTok – 2021 version!
If you want to get on the trend on TikTok follow these steps and find your look alike:
Step 1. Download the Pinterest application from the IOS or Google app store and then open up the app. If you already have the app make sure you have the latest version!
Step 2. Click on the magnifying glass in the bottom bar, this is a search tool.
Step 3. Press the camera icon on the right side of the search bar and there may be a notification asking if Pinterest can access your camera roll…Click accept.
Step 4. Choose a selfie from your camera roll or you can take one yourself.
Step 5. Once you’ve uploaded or taken a selfie, on the bottom right there should be a magnifying tool. Click that and a box should appear to put that around your image.
It should then search for your look alike and they should appear under your image! Do they look like you?
How to upload and get involved on TikTok
Unfortunately, there is no link between Pinterest and TikTok to allow you to put your look-alike process on TikTok, but there is a way everyone uses to upload and jump on the trend.
All you need to do is screen record from the start. On an iPhone, drag the top-right screen down and click on screen record – then begin the steps above.
On Android swipe down twice from the top of your screen. Tap screen record. You might need to swipe right to find it – then begin the steps above.
Once the screen is recorded go to the TikTok app and upload the video. You may have to cut some bits out, but once it’s done and your happy upload it and don’t forget to hashtag ‘Pinterest Trend’ – so more people can find your video.
